First Day of School!
My baby started kindergarten today! Our city does full-day kindergarten, so it's going to be quite the adjustment for everyone. We both managed not to cry at drop-off, but we gave each other some pretty watery smiles. I was so proud of how brave she tried to be. What a difference a few years make!
To celebrate the first day of school and to let them know how proud I am of them, I bought each of the girls a little necklace.
I purchased A's from Distinctly Ivy on Etsy. I had it engraved with her name and a ladybug (our nickname for her).
E's necklace was made by my friend Polly at Pieces By Polly. E was thrilled to receive a Hedwig necklace, and I hope it reminds her throughout this first day of third grade that she is very, very loved.
I am so proud of my bright, inquisitive, sweet little girls! I can't wait to pick them up from school this afternoon and hear all about their day.

I love the idea of first day of school necklaces (and not just because I happened to make one of them.) Both girls are growing up so much! I hope they have a great first day.
ReplyDeleteI adore the necklace idea too! I'll have to keep this idea in mind for my daughter. Precious pictures of your girls!
ReplyDeleteI hope you read her The Night Before Kindergarten!
