Snow Fun!

The day after Christmas we got over a foot of snow! I know my northern friends are laughing at me, but this is almost unheard of in our corner of the country. When the snow and wind died down, we headed outside to revel in all the fluffy white goodness! Making snow angels...

Building (or trying to climb over) snow forts...

And making the coolest snow-kid ever! She was our very own "Snowmen at Night."

Here she is the next day (recognize the scarf?)...

 And here she is today...

I only wish I had seen her go!

The Secret Life of a Snowflake by Kenneth Libbrecht

The Secret Life of a Snowflake: An Up-Close Look at the Art and Science of SnowflakesE was given this beautiful science book for Christmas. (Perfect timing, Cousin Fern!) We both enjoyed looking through it's full-color photographs of individual snowflakes and reading about the science of snow. The pages are well laid-out, the photographs are stunning, and the science is easily explained. I highly recommend it for your next snowy day!

  2. I am LOL about the snow girl on the slide! That would have been quite a sight to see. We love Snowmen at Night, it's the cutest book.

We had a beautiful snow on Christmas Eve. It was perfect!

  3. Ha! How funny to place a snow person at the top of a slide. We got that storm too; it dumped two feet on us up here in MA.

  4. I find that quite ingenious to put the Snowgirl on top of the slide so she can "enjoy the ride" as she melts! Fun!

  7. Never even considered trying to build a snowman at the top of the slide! How neat that she made it to the bottom in one piece.

  12. Hahaha! I LOVE it. It really makes me wish we had a slide to make a copy cat. I'm totally impressed that it stayed in one piece as it slid down.
