The day after Christmas we got over a foot of snow! I know my northern friends are laughing at me, but this is almost unheard of in our corner of the country. When the snow and wind died down, we headed outside to revel in all the fluffy white goodness! Making snow angels...
Building (or trying to climb over) snow forts...
And making the coolest snow-kid ever! She was our very own "Snowmen at Night."
Here she is the next day (recognize the scarf?)...
And here she is today...
I only wish I had seen her go!
The Secret Life of a Snowflake by Kenneth Libbrecht
E was given this beautiful science book for Christmas. (Perfect timing, Cousin Fern!) We both enjoyed looking through it's full-color photographs of individual snowflakes and reading about the science of snow. The pages are well laid-out, the photographs are stunning, and the science is easily explained. I highly recommend it for your next snowy day!
I wish we got snow over here in West Texas! Enjoy it while it lasts :) Love the pix!
ReplyDeleteI am LOL about the snow girl on the slide! That would have been quite a sight to see. We love Snowmen at Night, it's the cutest book.
ReplyDeleteWe had a beautiful snow on Christmas Eve. It was perfect!
Ha! How funny to place a snow person at the top of a slide. We got that storm too; it dumped two feet on us up here in MA.
ReplyDeleteI find that quite ingenious to put the Snowgirl on top of the slide so she can "enjoy the ride" as she melts! Fun!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! I'm glad you guys had so much fun.
ReplyDeleteNo snow here in CA. What a wonderful memory to have!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
Never even considered trying to build a snowman at the top of the slide! How neat that she made it to the bottom in one piece.
ReplyDeletetwo fun snowman books our children love are 'a snowman named just bob' and 'a snowgirl named just sue' by mark kimball moulton. the illustrations are beautiful and i love that it is book where the words flow easily.
ReplyDeleteSo much fun! I love your little snow girl and her "before" and "after" pictures. The book looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat is so fun that she slid down the slide! What a fun idea! I grew up in AZ and now live in the Midwest...I think snow is so fun!
ReplyDeleteYour snowman made me laugh! Looks like lots of fun there! Happy New Year! Kerri
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I LOVE it. It really makes me wish we had a slide to make a copy cat. I'm totally impressed that it stayed in one piece as it slid down.
