By now you've probably heard of Shutterfly's blogger promotion for 50 free holiday cards. I'm so excited about this marketing campaign, not only because I like Shutterfly (and free stuff), but because I'm hoping it will help revitalize the tradition of sending Christmas Cards.
Every year it seems fewer cards arrive in our mailbox. With blogs, facebook, email, and twitter making it so easy to stay connected throughout the year, and with snail mail becoming increasingly more expensive, Christmas cards are being abandoned. And that's just sad.
So let's save the tradition and send cards out to friends near and far! Shutterfly has so many cute choices, you can make your seasons greetings personal and adorable. The first step is to choose your picture. Are you going to feature the kids or are you brave enough to attempt a full family photo? Matching red sweaters in front of the mantle, or that photo of the family at the beach last summer?
I'm planning on taking individual pictures of each of us holding a letter (N, O, E, L). Shutterfly has numerous templates that let you put three and four pictures in a row, like this one which would work perfectly for spelling out "JOY" or "NOEL" or "HOPE" or even "PEACE" for you particularly large families. Or if you want to let your card speak for itself, they have a great selection of religious Christmas cards this year, that celebrate the reason for the season. They've also got a whole slew of Christmas gift ideas, like photo calendars which allow you to mark family and friends' birthdays throughout the year.
So dust off that address book, pull out your camera, and join the campaign to save Christmas cards! Your friends will be so glad you did. :)

I totally agree! Dislike that writing a letter or sending a card is becoming a lost art. Will definitely be checking out Shutterfly's selection again this year! Kerri
