First Day of School!

My baby started kindergarten today! Our city does full-day kindergarten, so it's going to be quite the adjustment for everyone. We both managed not to cry at drop-off, but we gave each other some pretty watery smiles. I was so proud of how brave she tried to be. What a difference a few years make!

To celebrate the first day of school and to let them know how proud I am of them, I bought each of the girls a little necklace.

I purchased A's from Distinctly Ivy on Etsy. I had it engraved with her name and a ladybug (our nickname for her).

E's necklace was made by my friend Polly at Pieces By Polly. E was thrilled to receive a Hedwig necklace, and I hope it reminds her throughout this first day of third grade that she is very, very loved.

I am so proud of my bright, inquisitive, sweet little girls! I can't wait to pick them up from school this afternoon and hear all about their day.

  1. I love the idea of first day of school necklaces (and not just because I happened to make one of them.) Both girls are growing up so much! I hope they have a great first day.

  2. I adore the necklace idea too! I'll have to keep this idea in mind for my daughter. Precious pictures of your girls!
