Terrorizing the Mailman

He may not look it, but our little dog Miles is a vicious beast, capable of tearing the unsuspecting mail carrier limb from limb. Or at least that's what he'd like you to believe. When our poor mailman steps up to the mailbox, our normally lazy dog transforms into a mail carrier killer. With much barking, growling, and baring of teeth, he lets that stalwart civil servant know that he's lucky a glass door separates the two of them. I think it's Miles' favorite time of day.

Millie Waits for the Mail by Alexander Steffensmeier

It's also Millie's favorite time of day - this mischievous cow loves terrorizing her mail carrier.

Everyday she finds a new hiding place and scares the mail carrier, chasing him off of her farm. This is great fun for Millie, but much less so for the farmer whose packages are ruined and for the mail carrier who has nightmares about the mad cow.

One day the mail carrier decides to give Millie a package of her own in the hopes of winning her over. Too late does Millie realize the present is for her. In a mishap, the package is destroyed, as is the mailman's bicycle. How will he deliver the mail now? I'll give you a hint - you could rename this cute and clever book "Millie to the Rescue"!

In way of apology for our misguided mutt's antics, E crafted this lovely thank you card for our mail carrier.

Inside she poured all her love!
